As Asian wedding photographers we rarely get the Opportunity to post a Sikh wedding Photography blog that is completely black and white.

Asian wedding photography is usually all about the Vibrant colours you see at Indian weddings. From the brides wedding dress, the bridesmaid dresses, the decor at the Reception, the indian catering to the guest outfits.

We have a colour version of this wedding also but we really wanted to create this blog black and white. We really wanted an immersive experience for the viewer without any distractions and to have a different take on an indian wedding.

We met Jat (The Bride) and Gupi (The Groom) through our videography partner company, The Video Hub. Rotimi and I were actually in Birmingham at the time at a photography workshop and it was the perfect opportunity to meet as Jat and Gupi are from Wolverhampton.

We arranged to meet at the Marco Pierre White roof top terrace bar in Hotel Indigo at the Cube. we hit it off straight away. it was apparent that they were both into the fashion editorial style you will see in our signature images. Jat has a background in fashion and Gupi works in the legal sector. We tended to have very similar ideas as to how we could approach photographing them.

Over the coming weeks and months, we confirmed the booking and discussed the vision. 

We agreed upon photographing their pre-wedding shoot in the peak district which was an amazing location. Jat and Gupi were open to all ideas and trekked to the top of Stanage Edge to get some epic shots. The Video Hub also captured some amazing videography that was played at their reception on a huge screen. We created a slideshow of the pre-wedding images which was also played on the screen.

The wedding day was a long day for everyone as the Anand Karaj (Sikh Wedding ceremony) and the wedding reception were on the same day. So a 6am start and a 11pm Finish! This is quite common for us and we have to keep alert the whole time so we can continue to be creative and provide a great experience for all.

It was a wonderful day and wish Jat and Gupi all the best for the future.
